This here is a special Father’s Day tribute to my own Dad. I think it’s fitting to honor him here .. not only because it is Father’s Day but because his life was taken by diabetes complications.
If roses grow in Heaven Lord
Please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my father’s arms
and tell him they’re from me.
Tell him I love him and miss him,
and when he turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon his cheek
and hold him for a while.
Because remembering him is easy,
I do it everyday,
But there is an ache within my heart
That will never go away.
—————————–
We thought of you with love today.
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday.
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories.
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake.
With which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our heart.
—————————–
God saw you getting tired. When a cure was not to be,
He closed his arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me”.
In tears we saw you sinking. We watched you fade away.
Our hearts were almost broken, you fought so hard to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping so peacefully free from pain,
We could not wish you back to suffer so again.
So keep your arms around him Lord, and give him special care.
Make up for all he suffered and all that seemed unfair.
Happy Father’s Day in heaven Daddy!
(please note that I did not write these myself but the authors are unknown)

Very touching tribute, Stacey!
Beautiful tribute
beautiful tribute to your daddy.
Stacey, as soon as I saw “Father’s Day” I knew you had written it, and I knew I would cry when I read it. What beautiful words and sentiments.
I think you doing all you do to take care of your Diabetes is the best tribute you can pay to your Dad.
