Spring Speaker Series and Wonderul Absorbtion

Happy Tuesday!
Well what is left of it anyway as I try to post this before 12am deadline :D 5MINUTES LEFT!

ACT1 Women’s Support Group had an amazing meeting today with Mount Sinai Nutritionist Alenka Ravnik.
A huge thank you to her for her wonderful advice to all the women at the support group.
Even though she is my personal nutritionist, I learned even more from her today as she answered the other ladies’ questions.
I think more professionals should have an attitude that isn’t composed of lecturing us or making us feel guilty about our food choices. Ravnik was far from this. She was instead very professional and fun.

Alenka kicked off ACT1’s Spring Speaker Series. If you don’t know, ACT1 will be having guess speakers at upcoming support meetings, so please come and join us!

On a personal note….
Yesterday, I changed my infusion set and it is currently on my leg. It seemed to have taken about two hours for it to start absorbing properly, however it has been fabulous since.
I woke up this morning at 93. Thank you Katie and Stacey for encouraging me to give it a go!
I think my next adventure will be on my arm.
This pump thing isn’t too bad after all *of course when its behaving and going incredibly well*

Not too much else is going on. No passing out this week or any other exciting news. This is definitely a good thing

  • When you say on your leg, do you mean the upper part of your leg? I’ve only tried my thigh once, but it wasn’t ideal. Did you use the outside of your leg (my old injection area from the 70s and 80s)?

I also changed my infusion site to my upper thigh for the first time. The absorption isn’t so great so may go back to my tummy area. But I’m running out of real estate there!

  • Katie

Hooray for new realestate! :D glad it worked out for you.

  • I wish I lived closer so I could attend ACT1′s meetings:) I love wearing my pod on my thigh:) the more places you can find to put your sets the better.

    Hi Bernard.
I mean on the outer part of my upper thigh.
I think it is very comfortable and for me it works really well
