Oh look...Its Problems again

Hello Everyone. Happy Ground Hog’s Day :)
Hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday. Except for you Phil, if you are reading this, as you have decided that there will be 6 more weeks of Winter.

I haven’t blogged in a few weeks because I have been extremely busy. Some good. Some bad.
The new year started off fantastic with the approval of my insulin pump and Dexcom.
Then I somewhat did what the Queen of England does. I had an official birthday and an unofficial birthday. :D
One was with ACT1 members and another loved one. Then I had another celebration with ACT1 members and also members of another family that is extremely important to me.
Tina made me a fabulous cake that was so incredible containing my favorite fruit! PEAR!

Recently I just had a biopsy for cancer. They had to stitch up the site. Quite frankly it isn’t doing too well. It is not healing as good as it should be (hey thanks diabetes). But I return this week to evaluate the situation. Because of the stitches being on my shoulder, I haven’t been able to do much exercise or go to the archery club. Though I did kick the soccer ball around a little this weekend.

I also developed an allergy to the Dexcom sensor needle (not the adhesive) which is extremely annoying. I really would like to continue using it and it has been doing wonders for me. At first we thought it was the adhesive, so I was spraying bendryl on the site and letting it dry prior to inserting the sensor. But the adhesive isn’t the case.
So I am working with a dermatologist to figure out what if anything can be done. Any advice cgm users?

Two people who are dear to me have been ill as well. One of them is a family member who is a diabetic. He is undergoing surgery. Please wish him well.
The second is a friend that I have been in and out of appointments and hospital with.

So all of this has really been knocking my levels out of whack. You know stress and annoyances make unpredictable levels.
I increased my basal.
It just has been difficult since I am still in the process of fine tuning my regiments on the pump!

Some good news!
I started my first grad course this semester as I still work on my BA! I know it is going to be fantastic course!
My history writing is going well, with the exception that I lost a notebook yesterday with tons of notes that I wrote up this weekend….
The Board Members of ACT1 will also be meeting this week for some planning, which I always love as we love serving this community.
I really enjoyed the last Adult support group. It was amazing with tons of new and old faces. Hope to see more of you at the next one!

Hey sweetie, I am sorry that life has been throwing you so many curve balls lately. I know how badly diabetes can be affected by stress levels. Of course it would be easy to say “stay calm” or “relax”, however I find that doesn’t help. So, instead I say scream into a pillow, kick a wall and maybe get schnookered if need be. Don’t hold it in whatever you do.

I am keeping you and your loved ones in my thoughts and prayers. I love you sweetie and I am here if you need me.

Sending you good thoughts and prayers Venus … please let me know if I can do anything! *hugs*

Hang in there Venus, things will get better.

Oof, I’m sorry to hear about all of your hard times. I’m excited that you’re happy with your grad school history courses though! Hang in there dear.
