Kelly you are so generous to blog with us! I am so happy that you are reminding people that we have a right to love our endos. I feel this is the most important doctor I see and I too love my endo! If I didn't, he would be short one patient.

Thank you so much K2 for posting for us ... and for sharing such wonderful thoughts :)
Although we basically manage our diabetes ourselves on a day to day basis, we still need the direction and assistance from our diabetes team (if applicable) which is lead by our endos. Since they do play a pretty big part in our "treatment", it is very important to have a good relationship with them. But we know unforatunately that is not always the case. I am so glad for you that you have found one that is not only competent but also a prince!

Hey K2! (Your post title made me grin.) So amazing that you found a doc like that. I'm so glad you have an endo who praises you for your successes, that's so very important!

Okay, forgive me, but I'm about to rant a little. My endo has criticized me for having an A1C that's too low(!!!) (He's the Mr. Sweetened Ice Tea endo that Lee Ann talked about in her blog a few months ago.) I stay with him because he's very proactive, willing to take on extra work to keep his patients in good control, but when he started chiding me for taking too good care of myself? And testing 12-15 times/day when I know that's been one of the main factors in keeping my kidney disease from progressing? I started thinking of finding someone else.

All this to ask...would you mind emailing me his name? Even if I have to drive an hour out of the way, finding a doc like that would be worth it. Now I have this sinking feeling whenever I go to my endo, and this post has reminded me that's not how it should be...

Thanks for inspiring others to make sure they get the care they deserve! :)

WOW that is so fabulous!! It's so good to hear those endos actually exist - and definitely that we shouldn't settle for less. What an adorable love story. Thanks for blogging with us and let us know what he gives you on Valentine's Day. :)
