This post is by Venus!

I am very much hating UPS right now! They have yet to knock on my door with my Dexcom.
Their site says it has been out for delivery for past two days. So I continue to wait. I have training tomorrow for it. So it must be here tonight! This is diabetic treason, really. Not exactly how I wanted to spend some of my days off, but totally worth it.

In the meantime, I am reading tons of books, watching movies and TV. I began having these thoughts about movie, music and the television industries and the lack of diabetic representation in them (ok, aside from Steel Magnolias which makes most of us depressed, and Christ Kattan in A Night at the Roxbury). Sure there are movies, but not a lot.

Speaking of which….I watched one episode of Jonas. :D
I wish they could show Nick doing more diabetic activities. Checking his glucose levels, even if he was to bolus when they all of sudden start eating lunch or dinner. Press buttons on your pump or something damn it! In my opinion I think it can help these screaming, raving, Jonas obsessed 10yr old children who have diabetes. It can also teach other children about diabetics.

Wish in general tv stars and famous people could bring more awareness to this.

Random thought… maybe Henry VIII had diabetes?

Vicky Cristina Barcelona was an absolute great movie. All it was missing was a diabetic! Not for anything specific, but just to add to complexity of these characters’ lives. The story was pretty complex but very good. Spanish psycho wife, confused husband, threesomes, two American tourists, friendships and romances. In the end Cristina gets her crap together.

The only thing missing from my Movie/Television Review day was Kiran’s non-onion guac (that she makes specially for me with my allergies, it also doesn’t raise my blood sugar like the other ones I tried)!

Will update tonight if and when I get the CGM!

    Diabetic Treason!

Now there’s an interesting offence. What would the penalty be?

Stacey I had you to teach me some but I have a lot more learning especially with the Seven Plus system!

Oh poo! No update from you yet is probably a bad sign. Hopefully they can still start the training without the delivery? I have wanted to see VCB since it came out in movie theater, I need to add that to my netflix list. Enjoy your days of vegetation, lol. Let me know what happens tomorrow! Good Luck!
