Merry Christmas to Me

This post is by Venus!

Merry Christmas Eve to everyone!
I am filling in for Gen today which is great because I want to share the good news with everyone. Well partially good news.

I got a call on Tuesday night that my Dexcom CGM was approved!!! Yay
After some back and forth with the insurance company, they said it could take as long as 3months for the authorization to go through. But here we are two weeks after the major battles and they approved it! So so happy. :)

My sugars have been so out of place in recent months dare I say years, that I know things will be better with the Dexcom and the insulin pump. My Dexcom will be delivered in the next week or so.
Sorry I have to say again that I am super excited

So the weird thing about all of this is that the insulin pump is still pending approval and of course what my portion of the cost will be. Usually they do not grant approval for a CGM unless the patient has been given authorization for the pump.
So this has me a little on the edge. I would like to be trained and tubed up before I return back to school next semester.

I know with at least one month of good levels, I will be feeling way better than I have been. I can not take these spikes and super lows! A better A1C would be a dream as well

“So what do you want!?” I want my pump!
“When do you want it!?” I want it now!

Wish me luck!
