I can see now! Today I went to the ophthalmologist for my usual check up and to find out what the feeling of pressure in my eyes were about. So my apologies for writing so late in the day.
Before I begin to vent about the stupidity of companies or about my ophthalmology visit today, I just wanted to touch on some things from this past weekend.
I had an awesome time this past weekend with everyone who went to World Diabetes Day. Much thanks to Alison for putting that together. Excellent organization and it was a beautiful thing to have all of us together. Thank you to ACT1’s Tina for a delicious cake as well!
The movie as others have blogged about “Men who Stare at Goats” was ummm… yeah
It hurt my brain. But there were some quite funny scenes, but I expected it to be way better.
TGIF was the highlight of the evening! Having everyone’s significant others at one table while taking pictures and laughing was very nice!
I would post up some pics however my camera cord isn’t working. But will post as soon as I can
Now for the messy stuff
So apparently my right eye has not changed since my last eye check up and well my left isn’t so lucky.
I have to return in a week to get more tests done and also get pictures taken of my eyes.
I never had pictures done of my eyes before. I got the brilliant idea when a friend of mine said most diabetics in the UK get them done and I should too. It tracks changes in my eye sight over time.
So I thought “hey gee wiz, this sounds like an idea.”
Today was the first time I went to Mount Sinai for eye appt. I was very happy with them as I was not anymore with my old doctor.
They even had my info from the old place I used to go to.
In addition to this, yesterday I got in contact with Animas and Dexcom to find out what was going on with the process of my pump and CGM.
Apparently my insurance company wants not 60days of glucose logs (which they have had for over two weeks now) but 90days! In addition they need other blood work done!
I was quite livid. I didn’t expect for the insurance company to call me and let me know what was needed and what was missing. I am sure they just want to save money and not help with the process of getting me on a more expensive treatment of diabetes.
However I did expect Dexcom and Animas to give me a call and say that they were wrong on what was needed for the insurance, the policy changed or whatever really lame excuse they wanted to give me. I mean hell, when were they going to call me and let me know that more data was needed???
So frustration for now, but tomorrow or maybe the next day will be better.

UGH your insurance company is being so obnoxious about all of this!! And I’m sorry about the eye doc visit.. I really hope the tests turn out okay and that you start feeling better.
Hang in there hon!!
